Over the years, circulation for The Mixer had stayed around 600 with subscribers om tje area between Alamo and McGreger. His newspaper was the last handset newspaper in North Dakota.

He owned and operated the Wildrose Nursery until his death. He was famous for his ability with boxing bags and was invited to New York City to be on the TV show "Whats My Line".
